Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?

Yes. The tours sell out, so tickets must be purchased online or over the phone in advance. All forms of credit cards are accepted. No cash and/or day-of walk-ups will be accepted.

Do I need to purchase a ticket if I’m not eating/drinking?

Yes- all guests must purchase a ticket whether they plan to partake in the food/beverage tastings or not. Non-paying individuals will not be able to join the tour for any reason(s). The ticket fees help cover the costs of all the food/beverage samplings and also to pay for your tour guide(s) wages, whom are offering valuable commentary on historical, architectural, cultural and restaurant information during our tours.

Is the food tour appropriate for children?

This tasting and gallery tour has been developed for food and art lovers. Those under the age of 16 are not always able to fully appreciate the tour, and their lack of enthusiasm may interfere with the exciting experience we have carefully crafted for you. However, not all children are the same, so if you believe your child can appreciate and enjoy the art and food, please bring them along! Regardless, please note that ALL CHILDREN need a paid ticket.

Crafty Cocktail Tour: Everyone on the tour MUST be 21 years of age. Therefore, children will NOT be allowed on this tour.

*Please note that strollers are not advisable on the tour, due to the many narrow sidewalks that we walk on, the uneven cobble stone streets that we cross and the very small establishments that we visit. If you have further questions pertaining to tickets for children, please contact us.

How much walking is involved?

The distance walked is roughly 1 mile. The pace is casual, but be prepared to be on your feet for roughly 2 hours. There are minimal stairs encountered on the tours, but if you have any accessibility requirements please indicate that when purchasing your tickets. We will make every effort to accommodate.

Can I sit down during the tour?

The walking tours are roughly 2 hours, but there are occasional opportunities to sit and rest. We understand that it might be difficult to be on your feet for a long time and strive to make sure that everyone is comfortable during the tour.

Are cameras allowed on the tour?

Yes. Cameras and filming are allowed during the tours. We strongly encourage participants to take photos during the tours. If you utilize social media, please tag us @dtotours or #dtofoodtour.

Does this tour have anything to offer a native Central Floridian?

ABSOLUTELY! Many of our guests live right here in greater Orlando. Locals often participate to learn things about the local galleries in the area and the foodie culture that that they did not know beforehand.

Can I take this tour again in the future? Will it be the same?

Yes! Guests are encouraged to come back again and again as the participating restaurants/establishments will change. Additionally, the culinary offerings will change as various months/seasons are “themed” by the partner establishments.

Are tours offered only in languages other than English?

No. Tours are only offered in English at this time. Our apologies for any inconvenience.

Does the tour leader accept gratuities?

No, the guides are compensated for their time through the Downtown Orlando Tours. As a thanks to them, we ask that you provide feedback at the end of the tour about your experience in lieu of tips. Similarly, the restaurants’ staff are taken care of in advance and do not require additional compensation. Kind words are always welcome though!

What restaurants will we visit on the tour?

Guests will visit five-six restaurants/establishments on the various tours. All restaurants/establishments are locally owned and vary in specialty and cuisine styles. For a current list of participating partners, visit our Tours tab.

Are there any beverages served on the tour?

On Food Tours, We supply everyone with a bottle of water at the start of the tour. There will also be an opportunity for tour attendees to purchase beverages (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) on the tour. Your guide will keep you posted about those options and when is a good time to grab a drink. The tour itself does not serve alcohol because of liability and open-container laws. However, some restaurant locations may offer a craft cocktail sampling instead of, or in addition to, the food tasting. For those under 21 (or non-drinkers) a non-alcoholic alternative will be provided at that time.

On Cocktail Tour, each guest 21 years of age will receive a beverage sampling at the different establishments visited.

How much food is there?

On Food Tours, The amount served is not meant to replace a meal but rather intrigue the palate and introduce guests to some unique and old faithful food items in the downtown core. All of the tastings are included in the cost of the tour. There are 5-6 delicious food stops on the tour and the tastings have been chosen by head chefs of each establishment.

On Cocktail Tour, there will be no food served only beverages.

Will I need dinner afterwards?

On Food Tours, Possibly. Following the tour, many guests will stick around downtown for happy-hour, a movie, the gallery spaces or even a comedy show! If you need ideas to help planning your time in downtown, contact us!

On Cocktail tour, eating beforehand and after is HIGHLY encouraged. As there will be no food offered on this tour.

Can you make accommodations for food allergies or preferences?

At this time we are unable to provide food substitutions for food allergies or preferences. We are sorry for the inconvenience! The food tours has been designed to highlight the best and most unique aspects of each establishment. Unfortunately, there isn’t always a “next best” option that also meets the special dietary needs of each of our guests. Since we have your health (and palate!) in mind, we truly appreciate your understanding on this issue.

If you have food allergies please contact us before purchasing a tickets and we can alert the guide and restaurants in advance.

Are the walking tours given in bad weather?

The tours are held rain or shine*. We will be entering many of the establishments on the tours and will not be outdoors for the entire 2 hours. You should still dress appropriately for the day’s weather conditions. It is not possible to cancel a tour at the very last minute due to many circumstances beyond our control. Before purchasing tickets please be aware of the possible weather conditions for that time of year.

*In the case of a tropical storm or hurricane, tours will be cancelled with advance notice and refunds will be given.

How should I dress during a tour?

Please dress casual, comfortable, and appropriate for the Florida climate (I.E. warm to very hot year-round).

Where should I park?

Downtown Orlando has MANY parking options. For a full list, click here. We suggest the Garland Parking Lot or Liberty Garage for their proximity and affordability. Parking fees are not included in the cost of the tour and vary by lot/garage. For transportation alternatives, see our resources page.

Where does the tour start/end?

The Gallery Tour and Downtown Orlando Food Tour tour starts at the Downtown Orlando Info Center located at 201 S Orange Ave # 102, Orlando, FL 32801 (map/directions). The tour guide will be easy to spot (big sign, logo shirt, etc.)!

The Crafty Cocktail Tour starts at 155 S Orange Ave. Orlando, FL 32801. Check in outside of the Plaza Cinema Cafe (Between Corona Cigar and Kasa)

The Thornton Park Tour will meet at in front of Anthony’s (on the corner of Summerlin and Washington)

What should I bring to check-in?

Our guides will have a list of all registered guests, but if there have been any changes to the attendees in your party, a printed copy of the reservation is needed.

How many people do you take on a tour?

15 people per tour is the perfect number! Our guides can manage 15 people with ease and still make sure that everyone gets a personalized experience. Right now we are running one tour per week, so buying your tickets early is advisable. If the tours are sold out, try one of our partner tours!

What is provided on the tour?

Each guest will receive a Downtown Orlando Tours tote bag, bottle of water and various coupons to other restaurants and entertainment in downtown.

Are there bathrooms breaks?

Of course there are! Your tour guide will make sure you are happy and comfortable and will let you know when the next restroom opportunity is coming up.

May I bring my dog on the tour?

Due to the various food establishments we visit (and their rules and regulations), pets are not allowed on this tour, with the exception of service animals. If you have any questions or special needs, please contact us.
